5 Best Free Contact Form Services for Your Blog

Contact Form makes it extremely easy for your visitors and readers to contact you directly, without composing a new email message. This not only looks professional but also saves a lot of time for people who want to contact you.

If you just put your email address exposed on your site, this makes your email inbox vulnerable to spam, so inserting a "contact us" page/link/widget in your site keeps you protected from those unwanted junk emails. Usually newbies do not care about inserting a contact link in their blogs and do not consider this as it is the only way your readers/commentators/sponsors can contact you. This is considered a huge negative point for the blog if the person fails to find even a hint to contact you.

Unfortunately after years - Blogger.com does not offer anything like this and still unable to embedd a default contact form in their blogs. But hundreds of third party contact form services offers this ease for bloggers, where they can design their own contact form and by puting a small javascript can embed a professional looking contact form in their blog. See our Contact Form

I'm sharing some of the top contact form services, where all you need to do is sign up for a free account, get the script and embed the form anywhere in blog or blog posts.

Tips to Double your adsense income

If you rely on Google AdSense to make money with ads displayed on your website, you're probably frustrated with your lower payments lately.

When Google first offered to share their advertising revenue with us in the Spring of 2003, it was pretty easy to bank some nice cash when our visitors clicked on those tiny classified ads displayed on our site...

... But these days, those Google AdSense revenue payments are getting smaller and thinner... even as our traffic grows. Most say it's impossible to make money with AdSense. I felt the same way until a few months ago. Today, I know there's money to be made with AdSense ads... if you know the secrets which I'm about to share with you.

This short AdSense tutorial is going to reveal my best-kept AdSense secrets to DRAMATICALLY boost your Google AdSense earnings. I stumbled upon these secrets by reverse engineering some of the websites that brag about making over $100,000.00 a year.

Tweak your title for higher AdSense revenues
Tweaking the title on your webpage is often the difference between banking a few pennies per click on your AdSense ads to generating over a dollar per click.

    Compare these similar phrases:

    - DIY home surveillance
    - do it yourself home security

Both keyword phrases seem identical... and they are in meaning. But the difference is advertisers are willing to pay 169 times more for webpages themed for "do it yourself home security" (average of $8.47 per click) compared to "DIY home surveillance" (5 cents a click).

Hit the Google AdSense "sweet spot"
My never-ending testing reveals there's a direct correlation between the placement of the AdSense ads and the resulting click through.

When ads are placed in "content zones" (rather than in "advertising zones), you typically generate more Google AdSense revenue. Where is the content zone? It's located just above your content. Most visitors are blind to ads placed in the traditional spots... but those same ads placed above the beginning of our content usually get clicked more often.

    Introducing the perfect AdSense templates
While there are currently 12 AdSense templates to display, I find the 336 x 280 (large rectangle) ads convert better than any other format. And don't fret about optimizing for smart phones and mobile devices... my testing shows they hardly ever click on AdSense ads.

Make your AdSense ads blend in with your content
Let's face it, our website visitors HATE ads. Most use ad blockers and their 6th sense to avoid ads. That's why you want to have your AdSense blocks blend in with the overall appearance of your webpage. Have the background of your ads match the background of your webpage. And don't add borders... this tips off your webpage visitors that you're displaying ads.

Triple your AdSense revenues with this one addition
AdSense for Search is MUCH more profitable than AdSense for Content. It's true. In addition to placing standard AdSense template ads, I place a Google AdSense search box at the bottom of my content... and each click averages 317% higher eCPM (effective cost per thousand impressions) than displayed ads.

    Dumb down your webpage
A new and very interesting study reveals the way a person arrives from a search engine like Google. It helps us understand how they click on your ads. Specifically, people who search by clicking the button on Google's homepage are 50% more likely to go on to click ads on your page than people who search by any other Google means, according to online ad network Chitika.

Confused? I understand. Let me explain... if Joe Blow searches Google for "hard drive recovery" and completes his search clicking the (Search) submit button, Joe Blow (on average) is 50% more likely to click on your AdSense ads than if he were to search using the [Enter] key.

Why the big difference? One can only guess that sophisticated web surfers are searching without the additional effort of clicking Google's [Search] submit button (while less-sophisticated searchers are clicking the search button -- and clicking on our Google AdSense ads.

Bottom line: It appears advertising click rates are inversely proportional to the "tech-savviness" of the people receiving the ads. So tweak your webpage theme to target beginners, not sophisticated users.

Eliminate unprofitable advertisers in a click
How'd you like to delete the worst advertisers (displayed on your webpages) in just a few fast and easy mouse clicks? Google now offers a best-kept secret way to ban advertisers who don't write profitable ads. It's called "Category Filters" and you find it by logging into your AdSense account and going here:

AdSense Setup --> Ad Review Center

As you see, Google shows you "Filtered Categories" and up-to-date results.

Google AdSense allows us to eliminate categories if they're unprofitable. For example, 8.9% of my ads display "Get Rich Quick" advertisers... nothing wrong with that, but my "% Recent Earnings" is 0.0%. That means I'm displaying ads that are paying me nothing. So I checked it off, clicked the [Submit] button... and now those unprofitable ads are no longer displayed.

How to increase google adsense CTR in few seconds

CTR stands for Click Through Rate that means how much your website ads are being clicked. So, here, I am going to explain a funny story to increase your google adsense ctr to maximize your website's earning. Actually, earning depends upon ctr because

    High Traffic=High CTR=$$$$$

The basic goal that you have to instal in your head is that YOU HAVE TO MAKE YOUR ADS LOOK LESS LIKE ADS.

As you know old and ugly 468x60 ads are still present from the history of internet when internet started. Now, even a newbie, can easily understand that it is an advertisement ad and he will probably click on this sort of any ad

Don't try this ad, this gives lowest CTR and will decrease your adsense earning

Remember : Get more visitors to notice your ads by placing them in the right place and making them look less like traditional banner advertising and hence get more clicks.

Step 1:-Using the best Ad Format

I have experimented with Ad formats with lot of  websites and what usually works best for me are the 336 x 280 large rectangular blocks and the 300 x 250 smaller rectangular blocks. These two Ad formats have got me the best click through rates (CTR). The worst Ad format you could choose is the 468 x 60 or the 728 x 90, which look just like banners, and as mentioned above, causes "banner phobia" and get the least click through rates. You should also stay well clear of the tall vertical units such as the 120 x 240, 160 x 600 and the 120 x 600 because the only places that these would fit would be the left or right hand sides of the webpage. This positioning will give them a very low CTR.

    Remember : Use 336 x 280 units or 300 x 250 if your really stuck for space.

Step 2:-Using the best colors for your Ad Units

As a general rule of thumb, always make your Ad Unit background and border colour the same as your website background colour. Why? I hear you ask. Well the reason for this is that the ad unit can easily blend with your website and content and does not set off any alarm bells or "banner phobia". This may result in your visitors actually taking the time to look at your advertisements and perhaps click.

Always go with the default blue link colour for your ad unit or slightly darker blue or even dark green. Try to always make the advertiser url as invisible as possible by making this a light grey. One last tweak, if you have any links in your main content portion of your webpage, change the colour of these to something other than your adsense link colour. However, keep your navigation the same colour as your Adsense links to make your adsense links look like they are part of your navigation.

Remember : The border and background colours of your Ad Unit must match your website background colour and the link should be the standard blue with the advertisers url a light grey. All other links in the content of your webpage should not be the same colour as your Adsense links.

    Step 3:-Positioning the Ad Units

Just like the property business, its all about location, location, location. Its sad to see that most new Adsense publishers these days tend to put their Ad units on the left and right hand sides of the webpage. This will drastically reduce your CTR. The objective is to get position these Adsense units as close to the top and middle of your webpage as possible.

Visitors are conditioned to look for content in the middle of the webpage and will always overlook the sides because surfers who have come to your website in search of an answer want only the answer which will be in the middle or the content portion of your website and will often always overlook the sides.

What works best for me is a large rectangular block just BELOW the Title and just above the content text. This is powerful at maximising your CTR because the visitor reads your title, is interested and what is the next thing they see? Advertisements.

The next best position to place an Ad Unit is right AFTER the main content. Combine these two and you have a webpage that is geared to have a high CTR because visitors who want products or services NOW will click the ads below the title and visitors who have been educated by your article and are interested in products or services related to your article will click the Ad units at the bottom of your webpage.

If your feeling a bit more adventurous and also if you have a long article, why not place an ad unit INSIDE your content, that's right place it about halfway through your article and make your text wrap around it. These Ad Units will gain the interest of visitors who were initially interested in the article and are now bored. So this is their ‘out' and you stand to make some money when they click away.

Last but not least, you've got Google Adsense Ad Link Units that are Google Adsense Ads that are grouped into links. Choose an appropriate size for your Ad Links Units and place them ABOVE your website navigation. This makes these Ad Link units look just like your navigation. So imagine the scenario when your visitors have finished reading your content and haven't already clicked away on one of your rectangular blocks that you have carefully positioned, they now look for more information so they look at your navigation, Lo and behold, they click.

Remember : Position a large rectangular block below the title, one at the bottom and one in the center if your content is long enough. Place Adlinks block on top of your navigation so that it looks like part of the navigation of your website.

How To Increase Your Adsense Click Through Rate (CTR) In Three Easy Steps

Which Keyword To Choose, The Possibilities Are Endless

Which Keyword To Choose, The Possibilities Are Endless

    Keywords, Keywords, Keywords

    Keywords, Keywords, Keywords

    STOP AND READ THIS

Remember guys that many who have overlooked the importance of keywords have failed miserably by falling into a highly competitive field. Think about it, YOU CANNOT TAKE ON SEO "GURUS"

As mentioned in this article please use Overtures FREE keyword suggestion tool Click on the link below to access this tool

    Keyword Suggestion Tool

Remember that Overture's Keyword Suggestion Tool is a means of COMPARING individual keywords to each other and does not reflect the actual number of searches for the phrase or keyword

FIRST STEP : RESEARCH THOSE KEYWORDS

Perhaps one of the most important steps in the whole process. Going in without researching keywords is like going in to battle blindfolded. If you do your keyword research right, you will have a rough idea of the competition that you will be up against. Trust me my friends, don't try to take on a competitor in very fiercely contested area, I have made that mistake and trust me, the effort required is simply not worth the return. The objective is to select a niche that is not fiercely competitive but still has many search queries for it. Remember the flip side to the coin is a highly specific niche that does not generate any search queries. Find the right balance. I use Overtures Free Keyword Suggestion Tool to get a rough idea of good keywords and the number of search queries that might be expected for that keyword.

Remember the results from this tool is NOT THE EXACT COUNT. Search counts could be considerably higher or lower but the idea is to ascertain how the individual keywords COMPARE TO EACH OTHER.

A Little Tip For Adsense Publishers

If you happen to run an Adsense campaign on your website or hub it is very helpful to know how valuable your keywords are. Knowing the value of keywords can help you earn a lot of money when Google places high paying ads on your website or hub. Trust me some of these ads pay as much as $50 per click!!! The best way to do this is to sign up for an Adwords account and bid on search terms to ascertain the value of the keywords that you want to target.

SECOND STEP : ANALYZING THE COMPETITION

Now that you have got your keyword or keywords that you want to target and you know on average how many searches will be made. The next step is to establish if this keyword(s) will be easy or difficult to rank.

Let's analyze the competitive landscape. This is done by going over to Live and Yahoo search engines and checking the number of results for your keyword(s). Did you note that I did not mention Google? Focus your campaigns on Yahoo and Live because they are easier to get indexed mostly in a couple of days (unlike six months with Google). This means that you aware of any NEW competition that may be up and coming. Please note that this NEW Competition may not be listed on Google and may surprise you a bit further down the road.

If the Live and Yahoo search results number a few million, don't be disheartened, next you need to count the number entries on the first search page that have the EXACT PHRASE IN THE TITLE. If only a few of the results have the exact phrase in the title, that's the amber light, competition is light for this keyword and your ready to conquer.

Now that your waiting at the Amber light, last but not least, you need to check the number of inbound links for the top three search results. This done by adding the prefix "link:" to the name of the website. For example "link:http://www.wikipedia.org/".

Whoa, hold on a minute, do the number on inbound links number in the thousands? How are you going to compete with that? Not to worry my friends the results page is not what it seems.

Let me bust two common myths surrounding In-bound links.

Myth #1 If I have millions of random in-bound links, my website will automatically be the best and rank number 1.

Busted!!! This is false because the links all have to contain the keywords that you want to rank for, for it to be any good. For example, your site is about race cars and you have a million in-bound links whose link text is "fast cars", you will rank well for "fast cars" but not "racing cars". Remember my friends, Quality always rules over quantity. A few high quality relevant in-bound links is always better than thousands of irrelevant links.

Myth #2 People seem to think that the results of the "link:" operator is the number of links that the search engines count as in-bound links.

Busted!!! To prove that this is false, just enter a search query using the ‘link' operator for the top ranking site for a keyword such as "Tortoise Pictures" on Yahoo. Watch as Yahoo generates well over 10,000 in-bound links for this site. Whoa, that's a lot of in-bound links. But really how many of these in-bound links to this site actually contribute to the ranking of this site? Simple.

Just click on the "Advanced search" link next to the search button. Enter the ‘link' command for the site and allow Yahoo to display 100 results per page, then click search. Yahoo now shows an EVEN HIGHER number of in-bound links than before. WTF? Look for the silver lining my friends, quickly scroll down the results page and you will see that Yahoo only displays 2 or 3 search result pages. 2 or 3 pages at 100 results each? How can that make more than 10000 in-bound links? Yahoo explains why in their statement at the end of the results page.

"In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the ones already displayed."

There you have the answer, Yahoo considers over 9000 in-bound links to be duplicates. Links are considered duplicates when the domain has different pages on the same domain pointing to the same ranking page in question, Internal linking is considered duplicate in-bound links. Suddenly the competition is not that hard.

Armed with the confidence that you can take on a niche with very well researched keywords and competitor information. The next section of this Hub takes a look at on-page optimization.

    THIRD STEP : ON-PAGE OPTIMISATION

On-page optimization to put it into simple words are the things that you need to do to your actual website that will enable it to get ranked. Yahoo and MSN search engines value on-page optimization more than Google. Here are a few tips on on-page optimization.

    1) Ensure that the domain name contains the keywords that you are going to target for.

    2) Make the Page Title to be the exact the keywords that you are targeting.

    3) Use the H1 header tag and make the very first word(s) your keyword(s).

    4) Following the H1 tag, start off the introductory paragraph with your keyword(s).

    5) If your article is very long, break it up into sections with H2 tags that contain variations of your keyword(s).

For example if I have an article on ‘life insurance' that I want to rank for the phrase ‘life insurance'. I would get a domain name with the words ‘life insurance' such as www.lifeinsurance.com would be amazing but if this is not available, get it on a subdomain such as www.lifeinsurance.mydomain.com.

Next I make the page title "Life Insurance" along with my H1 tag. My article is pretty long so I will break up my article with H2 tags containing variations of ‘life insurance' such as "how to apply for life insurance", "life insurance do's and don'ts", life insurance advice" etc. You get the gist of it.

Remember, "Life Insurance" is just used as an example and is fiercely competitive. As mentioned before try to target less competitive keywords and the above 5 steps are all you have to do for on-page optimization. I am pretty sure you've heard so called SEO "Guru's" throw out phrases such as ‘keyword density' and ‘alt tag density'. My advice, stay well away from these as these are only useful for really competitive keywords. Remember my friends, WE ARE ONLY TARGETING LESS COMPETITIVE AREAS. Let the ‘Guru's' kill each other.

    STEP FOUR : OFF-PAGE OPTIMISATION

In-bound links serve two vital purposes

    1) They help a site get crawled and indexed faster by search engine spiders.

    2) If the link text contains the keywords that you are targeting for, your site will get ranked higher based on the number of in-bound links pointing to your site

How do you get in-bound links?

    1) You can pay for them

    2) Or you can get reciprocal links ie swap links with other sites.

A lot of self proclaimed gurus say that number 1 ie paying for links is better because these are one way links which are more valued by search engines. I NEVER DO THESE, Why?

As I mentioned above, I do not go after heavily contested areas, let the ‘Gurus' do that. Going into less competitive markets usually means that reciprocal linking is sufficient. Remember my friends, content is king so if your site has some quality content, visitors will naturally give you free one-way links any way FOR FREE, so why pay for these!

    How to get reciprocal links?

    1) Run a search for the keywords that you want to target

    2) Next, you will have to go to each and every webpage and e-mail the webmaster with an offer to trade links 3) Once you have e-mailed all the webmasters lets say the top 30, use the ‘link' command on each and every one of the top 30 websites that you have already contacted and check who links to them. E-mail these webmasters as well.

    Closing

Does this sound like a lot of work to you? I am sad to say it is. There is no such thing as a quick buck. SEO is more time consuming than it is complicated. Once you have the knowledge and follow a successful blueprint like this Hub, you should have no trouble in setting up and cashing in on multiple websites. Remember my friends, patience and perseverance is key in this business.

Please let me know if this Hub has helped you and please feel free to send me any questions, comments, complaints, grievances or shameless praise:)

Move your WordPress Blog to another host or server in 10 easy steps

    http://www.dollarshower.com/move-wordpress-blog-to-another-host-server/

Last week I moved this WordPress based blog to HostGator. Moving the blog to a new host service is usually a delayed decision for most people. This is mainly because of the fear of loosing data, potential downtime, lack of technical knowledge and even worries about the new service’ quality. Many times, people pay a lot more for renewing their current hosting services than switching to a cheap hosting that offer better service due the above worries.

Moving your WordPress blog is no rocket science and it is so damn easy if you follow the steps given below.

10 Simple steps to move a WordPress blog

Step #1 Prepare the new host space

Create a directory on your new hosting space where your blog has to be moved to. If your new host supports multiple domain hosting, you might want to add an addon domain using the cPanel. As much as possible, try to use the same directory name as your existing blog installation directory in order to simplify the moving process.

Step #2 Do a fresh WordPress installation

Now use your new host’s cPanel Fantastico tool (or the famous 5 minute install) to do a fresh WordPress installation.

You have to make sure that:

    • The new WordPress release version is the same or higher than your current WP release

    • Use the same admin panel login & password as your current installation, to simplify things

    • Use the temporary WordPress installation URL to fill the WordPress address (URL) parameter in your WordPress Admin=>Settings=>General page. Also, change the Blog address (URL) accordingly (e.g. something like http://YourHostServerIPAddress/YourAccount/YourDomain.com/)

Visit your new blog installation using the ‘Blog address (URL)’ set above and make sure that the new WordPress installation (without your posts and theme) works fine. In order to avoid any accidental overwriting, you may want to keep a backup of your new wp-config.php in a safe place.

Step #3 Upgrade your current WordPress installation, if needed

From Step #2, if you installed a newer release of WordPress on your new host, make sure that your current WordPress installation is upgraded to that release via the standard upgrade process. It is better to complete the upgrade activities on your current playing field than on a new server and host. After the upgrade make sure that your upgraded WordPress blog and all your plugins work fine

(This step can be avoided if you decide to keep the target (new) WordPress release the same as your current one from Step #2. But this may not be possible when you use)

Step #4 Backup your current wp-content directory

Use your favorite FTP program (like the free FileZilla FTP tool) to backup the whole wp-content directory. In addition, you have to backup your robot.txt, wp-config.php and .htaccess files. Backup any other folders (e.g. download, temp, junk etc) and files that you might have created as well.

Step #5 Backup your current WordPress database

Use a tool such as phpMyAdmin (mostly available in your cPanel) to export your current WordPress database. Do not use the export feature in your WordPress admin panel as this would not take all your current settings but only the content (basically posts, pages, comments etc).

While using phpMyAdmin export, please make sure that you select:

    • All your WordPress tables and SQL as the Export option

    • Add DROP TABLE/VIEW/PROCEDURE/FUNCTION option

    • Save as File

Now, when you hit ‘Go’ you will be prompted to save the database backup file on to your disk.

Step #6 Upload wp-content folder, .htaccess and wp-config.php

Use your FTP program to connect to your new host to overwrite the new wp-content folder with the backup that you created from step #4. Also, make sure that the .htacces files are uploaded to your new blog directory.

Step #7 Import your WordPress database

Open the phpMyAdmin tool from your new host cPanel, select the new WordPress database (usually named YourAccountName_wrdp1), and click the import option. Select the database backup file from Step #5 to import the entire data into your new WordPress table.

Step #8 Test your blog with the new host

Now it’s time to test your blog on the new host but before that you have to change the following settings.

    • Just like you did in Step #2, change the General Settings blog URL to the temporary blog directory of your new host. With the database import, it may be now pointing to your actual domain name (e.g http://www.yourdomain.com)

    • You do not need to upload your wp-config.php file, if you started with a fresh installation of WordPress as in Step #2. But if you opted to create a new database from the backup (using Step #5) and then setup WordPress, the old wp-config.php values may be handy

Now, test your new WordPress installation with the imported content and your blog theme using the temporary blog URL just like you did in Step #2.

Step #9 Import your mails, save your new comments etc

Before you make your domain permanently point to your new WordPress blog installation, make sure that you:

    • POP (download) all mails from your previous host to your Outlook or your email client

    • Copy any new comments (Commenter’s name, email, URL, comment text) that might have come during your installation so that it can be manually added to relevant posts later

Step #10 Switch the name server values

Logon to your domain registrar account (sometimes it is the same as your old hosting provider) and change the name server values there to make it point to the nameservers provided by your new host. After this, you have to log on once to your new WordPress control panel and change the blog address (URL) and WordPress address (URL) values to make them point to http://www.YourDomain.com/ and its WordPress directory (only if WordPress was installed in a different directory – for example, http://www.YourDomain.com/wordpress). Make sure that everything works fine

    Troubleshooting tips

If you did not make any mistake and religiously followed the above ten steps, things should just work fine. Most of the issues are related to the wrong Blog address and WordPress address in the General settings section of your new WordPress admin panel. If you are not able to access the admin panel itself, you may want to use phpMyAdmin to open your new WordPress database, go to table wp_options, browse the rows and check the value of siteurl there. If it’s still pointing to your temporary installation directory or some other wrong value (check for typos), you have to correct that row manually.

If things still do not work, disable your plugins one by one and test. I had some problems with the Google XML Sitemap plugin which needs the chmod values of your sitemap.xml and sitemap.xml.gz files to be set to 666. You can do chmod settings for these files from your FTP tool.

The other common problem is the wrong wp-config.php usage. If you can’t connect to WordPress at all, please make sure to open and check the DB_NAME and DB_USER values in your wp-config.php file.

    Further tips and precautions

    • You can take the screenshots of your General settings, Permalink structure, Active plugins page and complicated settings pages of important plugins such as Google XML sitemaps, All-in-one-SEO plugin etc for future reference

    • Keep important long text value (e.g. keywords) in some text file

    • Before starting the upgrade itself, you may cut-paste backup the contents of all your widgets into some text file. I lost my widgets during the upgrade process

    • Once the upgrade and move is complete, make a complete back up of your new WordPress installation directory on the server itself renamed to something like WP_2.8.2_Backup so that in case of any mistake done, you could rename and use this directory

    • Never upgrade your plugins blindly even when the Plugin info claims that it is compatible with your WordPress release version. Make sure to backup the plugin folder before attempting to automatically upgrade it

    • Check with your hosting service support team if you can’t solve the issues yourself. HostGator provided me wonderful chat support to fix some of the issues that I faced

    • Choose an appropriate time to upgrade when your ISP is running in full throttle – I have minor issues with my ISP (Airtel) which suddenly slows down post midnight

I hope this ‘How to’ tutorial is useful to some of you and if so please do not forget to bookmark. Also, let me know if I missed out any point or steps. You can even ping me on twitter for free consulting if you encounter any problem with your WordPress move when you go for your next hosting provider.

    Happy Blogging (with WordPress)!

Another blogger great feature is near to be introduced

2 Months ago blogger introduced the best feature ever of blogger.com that was pages. Now, blogger has introduced another good feature that will replace old and ugly themes collection and also theme editor(But this feature is in beta and you can access it on draft).

with this feature, you can customize your theme and make your blog professional. Another good thing of this feature is that you can make your theme one column, two column, three column or four column by clicking a button.

Here are are some features that are introduced in draft

    • Free Templates: There are 15 best templates for free available that looks like professional premium templates. You can select any of them for your blog.

    • Different Layouts: Make your blog easy to navigate with this feature. You can pick one column, two column, three column and four column layout for every theme included in this feature

    • Hundreds of background images and patterns from iStockphoto, I think biggest investment so far to blogger is these awesome backgrounds.

    Try it Now
Go to http://draft.blogger.com/ to log in to Blogger in Draft. (If you’ve never been there before, Blogger in Draft is just like regular Blogger, except with new, in-development features like this one.) Click on your blog’s “Layout” link to go to the Layout tab. The link to the Template Designer is at the end of the row of sub-tabs.

You can use the live preview to see your new template without affecting your blog. When you find a new look that you’re happy with, just click the “Apply to Blog” button to publish it to the world. Note: You can backup your existing template ahead of time by going to Layout > Edit HTML. We recommend this if you have a customized blog design that you might want to go back to.

Classic template blogs: If you have a “Template” link or tab instead of “Layout,” you’ll first need to switch from Classic to Layouts before you can try out the Template Designer. Go to Classic > Customize Design and follow the instructions there. You’ll need to switch to one of our old templates first, but then you’ll be able to use the Template Designer to pick a new one.

Meta Tags importance in Search Engine Optimization

As this is described in previous posts that meta tags can boost up traffic for your website and you can be top of differnet search engines. So, I will explain that what the meta tags are and how they work??

Meta tags are hidden HTML tags placed in the <head></head> section of a web page. These tags are used to describe various aspects of a web page like Keywords, Description, Author Info, Copyright info and much more.

In terms of Search Engine Optimization there are two Meta Tags which are really important and these are Meta Keywords and Meta Description tags.

    Sample Meta Tags:

    <HEAD>
    <TITLE>Meta Tags</TITLE>
<META NAME=”description” CONTENT=”This line will be displayed in search results below the title”>
    <META NAME=”keywords” CONTENT=”keywords, meta tags, meta tags seo”>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>

    Meta Description Tags

The content of meta description tag is displayed below the title in search results however now a days this info is ignored by most search engines as meta description tag is often misused with misleading or even false information about a page.

It doesn’t mean that we should stop using this tag as some search engines still index the contents of meta description tag for its search results. If we don’t specify meta description tag, the search engines will usually extract first few lines from the body text.

Normally search engines will index the first 140 – 160 characters of meta description tag content. I would suggest use the description thats sells the page and make sure its the summary of the page content.

    Meta Keywords Tags

As the name suggest Keywords are the important words and phrases which describes the content . Actually, keywords represent your contents that what sort of data it contains but remember that irrelevant keywords can place you at millionth page in any search engine.

But, Content is the king, most of the search engines rely more on the content and if you use the keywords in meta tags its an advantage and help search engines to correlate the most relevant information to display in search results. Before selecting the keywords do some research as described in my previous post.

Google Adsense is not approving your account

In these days, google is hardly accepting accounts for adsense specially from red flaged areas like Pakistan. Reason behind this is that most of the bloggers makes a free blog and then make their blg popular by just copy paste data and do some click fraud.

I got the idea to write this article after my friend’s application got rejected by Adsense team and they replied him back giving some guidelines to try his luck in the future.

Your application for Google Adsense will not be approved if your website or blog do not satisfy any of the following guidelines :

    • First of all your website must be your own top level domain like www.example.com and not the sub domain like www.example.com/blog.

    • Your website must contain only substantial and original content.

    • You must provide accurate personal information with your application that matches the information on your domain registration.

    • Your website must comply with Google Adsense program policies which are given here : https://www.google.com/adsense/policie

So if your website/blog satisfies these guidelines then don’t forget and move ahead to apply for an Adsense account. However, remember that these guidlines are not provided by but Google Adsense Policies Gave me

List of Top Text Link Advertising Networks

Earn money from internet is the biggest and hot topic in these days. Lot of people are making website for only earning purpose and now another fasion is open in this era that is "Blogging for Money". There are lot of methods of earning money online. Earn money through text links is not a popular method but you can earn money though this mehtod if you have a page with high PR and high alexa raank.

Actually, there are many websites that are offering text links but, today, I will review some popular

    1. Text link ads - Text link ads is an adverting company located in NY which helps both the advertiser and publisher to make money of their services. To include your website as a publisher here on text link ads, your website should have Google page rank 3 or 4 at least and good Alexa ranking as well. They send your earnings on the first of every month via check, Paypal or Payoneer whichever you recommend. According to me, Text link ads; is the best adverting company for selling links on your website. I himself have been suing text link ads on some of my blogs with great success.

    2. TNX (Pronounced as the word Thanks) - TNX could be your ultimate target if you are willing to sell text links on your website. The good thing about TNX is that you can though on selling links on your website if your website doesn't have some real PR. And if your website have a good page rank, then the price for every link that is sold on your website will be quite high. They have the paypal as the mode of payment and they send your payments once every month.

    3. Linkworth - Linkworth has many adverting programs including text link ads which website owners and bloggers can use to make money. They have 70:30 commission ratio i.e. publishers will be paid 70 percent of amount they make with every opportunity and the rest will go to Linkworth account. They send the payments on the 10th of every month via check, paypal or bank transfer whichever you prefer. According to me, Linkworth is a win-win situation for both the publisher and blogger as it gives lots of money making opportunity to both with their website and services.

    4. Linkadage - Website owners can earn money by selling text links with Linkadage. With Linkadage, you can sell links on PR as well as non PR pages and even can set your own pricing for links.

How to Optimise AdSense For the Best Click Through Rate

Currently you are running your website or your blog along with Google adsense. A problem, may be a bad luck, is that your ads are not high ctr that may lead to achieve low income. Below, I will explain how to optimize your Google ads to get maximum ctr to increase adsense income. Actually, these are not my own words but google will tell us how to optimize our ads.

    1. Match your google ad background with the background of your website page.

    2. Text color should also match with text color of your website page.

    3. Most important, titles of your ads should match with links color of your web page.

    4. it's better not to use a border on the ad, but if you do, then choose a color to match your site colors.

    5. The larger ads work best and there are optimum sizes you can select

This is indicating quite clearly that the general idea is to make your Google AdSense ads blend into the style and colour of your site for best results. This sort of suggests that there is a natural aversion to clicking on something that is clearly an advert. So by making the advert blend into the site so that it appears as just another familiar source of information contained within the site content you are more likely to gain a click through to the ad itself. This is after all the whole point of the exercise from the publisher's perspective.

With respect to the positioning of the advert:

    1. the ads need to be above the fold

    2. the best position to place your primary ad is just above your page content, after which

    3. the top left hand corner or under the nav bar (horizontal nav bar)

    4. then just after your content above the footer bar

    5. you can also place ads in your content, generally on the LH side works best

These are your placement options, but this does not mean that you should try and use all of them. There are rules anyway that prevent you placing too many adds.

There are different types of ads which you can use in combination and sometimes combining the different types of AdSense ads can give you maximum exposure. But you do need to think about what will turn your visitors off; sometimes less is more.

Stop and think about your visitor, why they are visiting your site and where they might focus their attention. Then try and make the ads compliment your site and add to the visitors experience, rather than get in the way and clutter up the page.

The best way in the end of finding out what works best, is to experiment with your ads in terms of colors, sizes and position to find out what really suits your visitors. Also don't be afraid to change if you find after time that the click through rate drops off again, what might be good one period can change in the next.

How to: Create and use WordPress page templates

Page templates are very useful: They allow you to creates custom pages, for exemple creating an archive page which will list all your posts, or a page to display infos about the author.
A page template is defined by the following code, inserted on the firsts lines of the file:

    Template Name: Archives
    */
    ?>

Here, we just created a page template, named "Archives".

To use it on your theme, write a page, and scroll down until you see a "Page Template" dropdown list, as described in the picture below:

Adsense Ready & SEO Friendly Wordpress theme

ads minded adsense ready and seo friendly theme for wordpress

    AdsMinded Wordpress Theme Review

I am using this nice wordpress theme on my one of blog that is the best adsense ready theme.

This theme is SEO optimized plus you can customize the layout and ad placement several ways. On one of my blogs, I left out the 2nd column with the Adsense ads on the main page. They’re only visible once a surfer clicks through to read the entire post. Also, there are several other areas where you may put other affiliate codes from other companies. This really maximizes your earnings potential!

This 3 column layout comes with an optional square ad placement on top of the sidebars. It comes with some very useful Wordpress plugins. The best thing about his website is ad link unit on top of the theme that looks like a menu bar that gives best CTR. Well this gives highest earning.

I am using this wordpress theme with these plugins

    1. All in one SEO

    2. Google XML Sitemaps

    3. DIgg Digg

    4. WP Page Navigation

    5. FCK Editor
