How to add keyword description meta tags in a webpage

Ok. Today i will explain about a little seo strategies that are really very necessary to get you o the top of search engines. Yes I am talking here about meta tags that are most important for any website or blog. In my previous post about meta tags for blogspot , I explained how to add meta tags on a blogger blog but this will explain how to add meta tags on a web page.

Let’s begin

Almost every site on the web has used these two “key” meta tags, descriptions and keywords and some of these contains three and third one is keypharases. The description meta tag gives a brief summary about a page or website. The keywords give the search engines some extra information when someone searches for a specific query. You shouldn’t have the same keywords you used in your description (why?) because Google already picks the most important keywords for you. This sums up the basic explanation of meta tags.

How to Add Keyword Meta Tags

Step 1. Open up the page you want to SEO

Step 2. Go into your page’s code view

Step 3. Locate the <head></head> tags

Step 4. Inside these tags, insert the below code

<meta name="keywords" content="keyword1, keyword2, keyword3, this is a key phrase, another key phrase" />

If you notice I added some random keywords to give you a sense of how to go about populating the keyword tag. Notice how each word is separated with a comma. If you wanted you could make key phrases instead of words or both. Key phrases work the same way, separated with a comma.

How to Add Description Meta Tags

Step 1. Open up the page you want to SEO

Step 2. Go into your page’s code view

Step 3. Locate the <head></head> tags

Step 4. Inside these tags, insert the below code

<meta name="description" content="This is where a description of your site goes..." />

The meta description is similar to the meta keywords except you don’t insert commas after every word. The description should be a short summary of your entire website/page. As you can see I already added, “This is where a description of your site goes…” All you have to do is edit that part and your set. SEO doesn’t take any special knowledge, it only takes time.
